Someone please explain to me why I went to the sherlolly tag and people are thinking Molly will be engaged to Lestrade? I AM LOST

image

There’s what looks to be an engagement ring on Loo’s finger in a set photo.  She happens to be with Rupert in said photo.  But they weren’t filming.  They were just chilling on set.  So it could be Lestrade Molly’s with, but it also could be anyone else.  It’s too early to know and too early to freak out.

So this may just be my Sherlolly-loving heart’s wishful thinking, but I had a think.

I know that, here in the States, spouses cannot be forced to stand witness against each other in a court of law.  They can willingly, but not by force.

I know everyone’s freaking out about that ring being a sign of Molstrade, but if there’s a similar law in the UK (and I’ve done no research, so I have no idea),  I would not put it past Sherlock to protect both Molly and himself by marrying her.  That ring could very well be the key to Sherlock keeping Molly out of jail. Since, you know, filing fake death certificates is illegal.

I will never understand people who hate on Donovan

Sherlock’s kind of an asshole.  Watching the show, I don’t think we’re supposed to think he’s the nicest guy, because he’s not.  I love him, but if I knew him in real life, I’d get fed up with his shit really fast.  And if you say you wouldn’t, you’re lying.  He puts down everyone, it’s part of his character.  And no one likes being constantly put down.

So why do we hate on Donovan because she reacts like a normal human being when some guy continually shows up at her job and makes her look like an idiot? Can you even imagine how hard it was for her to get to where she is?  She’s a woman of colour who works in murder.  It (a) takes a special kind of person to be able to deal with murder every single day and (b) takes an equally special kind of person to get to where she is in such a male dominated field.  She’s probably been dealing with people putting her down for her entire fucking life.   And now she’s finally gotten somewhere (and is clearly fucking good at her job because she wouldn’t be there if she wasn’t) and some guy shows up at all her crime scenes and not only makes her look like an idiot, but also shames her for her sexuality.

She has every right to hate Sherlock.  It’s not just blind hatred.  She’s trying to do her job and someone with no right to be there keeps getting in her way.

And if you think she reported him out of spite - do you have any concept of reality?  We always knew it wasn’t Sherlock because of the way the episode was shown to us.  But she doesn’t see everything we see.  And all the evidence was pointing towards Sherlock.  Trying to cover it up would have been illegal.  When you’re working on a kidnapping case, you don’t ignore the evidence because the person it’s pointing has solved some of your cases.  You follow up on all your leads because you have a job to do and if you ignore anything and something goes wrong, that’s on you.

So you should probably stop hating on Sally Donovan and, if you don’t, at least don’t fucking tag your hate.

Finally made it to the next page!

The next chapter of Leave Me Be will be up soon eventually!

I just had a think. A possible Reichenbach theory.

Okay, remember how I pointed out Moriarty was left-handed ages ago? Because of the teacup thing?

Well, he’s only sometimes left-handed… Like, they make a point of showing that he’s left-handed in that particular scene when he goes to visit 221B, but every other scene w/ him he’s right-handed.

Particularly— the scene in the pool where he pulls out his phone and both holds in and types on it w/ his right hand. A lefty wouldn’t do this naturally… They’d, of course, automatically use their left hand. Also, the scene when he breaks in & wears the Crown Jewels, etc— what I find particularly interesting there is how he uses his right hand to place the diamond— which is something that requires precision. A lefty, again, wouldn’t do that.

Also, the fact that Sherlock hands him the teacup as though for a right-handed person means that Sherlock thought he was right-handed— because he’d have watched the footage of the break in. And Sherlock is never wrong. So when Moriarty spins it around and drinks the tea w/ his left hand… It’s odd, and Sherlock would notice.

And then, in the last scene, Moriarty is playing Stayin’ Alive on his phone, and he’s holding his phone with… you guessed it, his right hand. And then later on Sherlock says “If you want me to shake hands with you in hell, I shall not disappoint.” So Sherlock is actually the one who suggests shaking hands. Why would he do that? And then they actually do shake hands, and you know which hand ‘Moriarty’ gives Sherlock? His right hand.

So, I looked it up, and Andrew Scott is left-handed… So holding a phone/typing on a phone/placing the diamond/ etc with his right hand would be pretty uncomfortable (I mean, try it yourself. Try doing any of these things w/ your non-dominant hand— it just doesn’t feel right, ever). Which means it’s not natural. Which means it’s a conscious choice. And if he’s choosing to make himself appear clearly right-handed in certain scenes and clearly left-handed in others…

Well, the only explanation I can come up with is that he’s playing two different characters.

She had never paid much mind to Hemingway, but as the days had turned to weeks, and the weeks to months, she felt he had gained a certain poignancy. She hadn't let John or Mrs. Hudson take it, but she just couldn't have it anymore. "Blue scarf for sale, well worn."

I didn’t just slide off my chair to sit on the floor crying.  Not at all.
